2017 Zaragossa Spain
I was invited to speak and demonstrate at Exprodronica 2017 and to talk to drone racing enthusiasts and quadcopter technologists.
A perfect chance to do some more testing of a new long range quadcopter for ImmersionRC and to film a couple of episodes for Rotor Riot.
I create videos primarily to document a moment in time or to record an event that I hold dear. There has to be a reason for a video, not a need to meet a deadline. .
2015 Mexico Drone Fest
As the newly crowned USA drone racing and freestyle champion I was invited to Mexico City to compete in Mexico's first ever drone competition .
2016 World Drone Prix
Most extravagant event in the drone world ever. Big money, stupidly expensive course, ridiculously complicated expectations. The only ones who made money were the locals. .
2016 South Korea
Keynote speaker and freesyle demonstration at the International Drone Sports Conference. Celebrity pilot demonstrator and presenter at the IDRA Championships.
Spent a day as a special guest with unique access to this exclusive research centre. Recorded rare footage flying inside the research facility and data centre.
Invited to spend time filming in Shanghai, Bejing and the Great Wall of China. Stunning visuals recorded on 4 Rotor Riot video episodes. This was a trip of a lifetime.
2017 Paris France
Competitor representing the ImmersionRC Racing Stable at the Drone Racing League (Paris serie)s flying along the famous Champs Elysee. On the way home disaster happened.
"Chad Nowak has been interested in all things aviation since he was a little boy. He has dabbled in many technical areas in this industry and is a very accomplished pilot of both RC models and full sized sailplanes (in which he also holds a glider maintenance certificate). With his recent entry into the new exciting sport of FPV quadcopters he quickly created a name for himself as a world class champion pilot, an award winning videographer, a quadcopter product specialist and a highly sought after commentator with insights into the FPV community (as well as speaking on behalf of pilots). He is a celebrity presenter in the well know YouTube show Rotor Riot. His call sign and business name, FinalGlideAUS, is one of the most respected brands in the industry - standing for honesty, quality and innovation. Over the last 2 years has had a direct hand in the development of many of the components that have become standards in the hobby today. Chad earns his living as a professional advisor/consultant to a wide range of component manufacturers. He has his finger firmly on the pulse of the latest technology, the latest trends and the latest thinking. He is outspoken when it comes to calling out hype and blantant untruths and innendo. People have enormous confidence in his analysis because he is one of the few personalities that combines deep technical knowledge with high level piloting skills."
Let me tell you a story ........
"Chad enjoys working with individuals on a personal one-on-one basis explaining concepts. He remains one of the most recognisable public figures in the industry. His enthusiasm and energy when creating educational and entertaining content has inspired many and earned him a large following." Sean Blakemore (ImpulseRC)
I spent two years doing everything possible to create a brand based around having fun with FPV quadcopters. It took me all around the world. When the dream soured I left.
Snippits, footage and memories of the early days of FPV when the hobby was trying desperately to hype itself up and go mainstream well before the commercial entrepreneurs took over.
2016 USA Drone Nationals
One of the biggest disappointmens in drone racing history second only to Drone Worlds held soon after. Repeated my win in the freestyle event (which surprised my detractors).
Honoured to be invited to be the celebrity pilot and commentator at the Ukraine National Drone Racing Championships. Was given quality time to fly in key locations.
The first race of the Drone Racing One season held at on and around a dry reservoir dam wall. I was very sick and the weather was unbearably hot. Realised racing was not for me.
2016 Ibiza Spain
Part of the Rotor Riot team invited as celebrity commentators for the Spanish Drone Racing Association's premier event (unfortunately the whole thing cut short by a fierce storm).
2016 Red Bull Flugtag
Pilot in command of a full sized experimental wooden framed aviation "plane" which was launched into the sea leaving me to sink or swim. Won first place in two categories
2016 Chernobyl Ukraine
Spent a remarkable 10 days at this awe-inspiring site and surrounds including capital city Kiev (4 Rotor Riot episodes were recorded).
2016 Drone Worlds
Decided early not complete - good decision. This event put the sport back many years and proved to everyone that drone racing needed to be taken out of the hands of entrepreneurs.
2015 Hawaii Tour
I was invited to go to Hawaii to check out locations for the World Drone Championships. My video, capturing the very essence of this magnificent place, was runner up in the 2016 NY Drone Film Festival.
2015 USA Drone Nationals
Tony Cake invited me to complete in the first ever drone racing competition in Sacremento. I blitzed all 3 events and the rest is history. Drone racing, the Alien and FGA were born.
2015 F3 Expo
The freestyle competition, held in the Georgia Dome, attracted major international pilots. The event is still viewed even today as THE premier freestyle drone event. I won.
